Motorists Urged to Avoid Kilkenny Area During Road Repairs

Motorists in the Kilkenny area are advised to seek alternative routes as construction works commence on the L5025 road near Lacken. Temporary traffic lights will be operational from 09:00 to 16:30 daily until September 19. The Kilkenny County Council has implemented a Stop and Go traffic management system to facilitate essential bridge repair works.
These repairs are expected to cause significant delays, with traffic queues likely to form throughout the duration of the project. The council emphasizes that avoiding the area, if possible, will help ease congestion and improve travel times for all road users.
In a statement, Kilkenny County Council expressed appreciation for the public’s cooperation during this necessary maintenance. They also apologized for any inconvenience the roadworks may cause to daily commutes and local traffic.
As the repairs progress, updates will be provided to keep the community informed of any changes or developments. Motorists are encouraged to remain patient and to plan their journeys accordingly.
