UPDATE: Pallasgreen GAA Club’s thrilling Quid Game event on October 14, 2023, at the bustling Ballykisteen House Hotel raised a remarkable €10,000 for charity, marking a significant milestone for the club’s field development project. Over 400 attendees packed the venue to witness 30 contestants battle it out in challenges inspired by the hit Netflix show Squid Game.

The atmosphere was electric as friends and families cheered for their favorite participants, transforming friendly rivalry into an exhilarating competition. The night culminated in an intense showdown between contestants Michael Hally and Christian O’Dwyer, with O’Dwyer ultimately claiming victory. His efforts resulted in a generous donation of €7,000 to his chosen charity, Milford Care Centre, alongside a personal award of €3,000.

The event also highlighted emotional moments, including a tribute to Colin Ryan, who was honored for his All-Ireland Poc Fada victory earlier this year. The heartfelt presentation, made by his father and club chairman Denis Ryan, added a personal touch to the evening.

Pallasgreen GAA expressed immense gratitude to all involved—from the dedicated organizing committee to the main sponsors, Lee’s Centra and St Ailbe’s Credit Union. Their commitment ensured the event ran smoothly and successfully. The club also thanked all sponsors, donors, and attendees who contributed to the night’s success.

The Quid Game not only provided an entertaining evening but also showcased the power of community spirit, with contestants devoting countless hours to fundraising efforts that exceeded all expectations.

As the club looks ahead, the funds raised will be pivotal in advancing their extensive field development project, which includes building a new stand and walkway. This event sets a positive precedent for future initiatives, highlighting the importance of community engagement and support in local sports.
