British Airways Launches New Flights to Graz Christmas Markets
UPDATE: British Airways has just announced the launch of its first-ever flight route to Graz, Austria, beginning November 21, 2025, just in time for the festive season. With 14 Christmas markets set to light up the city, this charming destination is poised to become a must-visit for holiday travelers looking for a unique winter getaway.
As the trend of “coolcation” gains momentum, Graz stands out with its UNESCO-listed old town and an enchanting atmosphere that promises an authentic Christmas experience. Travelers can explore the city’s remarkable transformation into a winter wonderland from November 21 to December 24, 2025. The markets are conveniently located within walking distance, making it easy to soak in the festive spirit.
Graz’s renowned Christmas markets, including Hauptplatz, Eisernes Tor, and Mehlplatz, boast thousands of twinkling lights and attract visitors from around the world. The Hauptplatz market, in particular, dazzles with 25,000 lights illuminating its festive stalls. Visitors can indulge in traditional holiday treats such as roasted chestnuts, mulled wine, and Styrian ham, making it a culinary delight as well.
Moreover, the city has been recognized by Forbes as home to one of Europe’s top 10 most beautiful Christmas markets. A highlight of the festivities is the stunning ice nativity scene located in the Landhaus courtyard, where talented artists carve breathtaking displays from 35 tonnes of crystal-clear ice, adding to the magical experience.
British Airways Holidays is offering two-night packages at the elegant four-star Das Weitzer Hotel, starting at just £289 per person (plus €5 local tax). This deal includes return economy flights from London Gatwick, one checked bag per person, and comfortable accommodation. Bookings for this limited-time offer are available until November 19, 2025, with travel dates spanning from December 1 to December 31, 2025.
YouTuber Natasha Villaroman recently highlighted Graz as an “underrated holiday gem,” sharing her delightful experience visiting the markets in 2024. She remarked, “During Christmastime, this charming city transforms into a winter wonderland with over 10 festive Christmas markets scattered across town!” Her enthusiasm resonates with many travelers who have similarly praised Graz’s unique holiday offerings.
With Christmas fast approaching, this new route presents an exciting opportunity for travelers seeking a festive escape. The launch of British Airways’ flights to Graz not only highlights the city’s charm but also underscores the growing trend of winter travel to cooler climates.
As the holiday season nears, travelers are encouraged to book their tickets early to secure this exceptional experience. Graz is ready to welcome visitors with open arms, promising unforgettable memories filled with festive cheer. Don’t miss out on the chance to explore one of Europe’s hidden winter gems!
