A group of travel agents from Ireland and the United Kingdom recently embarked on a press trip to Barbados, organized by ITTN in collaboration with Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) and Aer Lingus. The trip aims to showcase the island’s attractions and promote Aer Lingus’ direct flights from Manchester to Barbados. Among the agents participating are Roisin Carbery from Tropical Sky and Deepak Jadoun from Click&GO, alongside several others from both regions.

Upon arrival late Sunday night, the group checked into the Wyndham Grand Barbados, an all-inclusive resort that opened in 2023. Following a buffet-style welcome dinner featuring a variety of dishes, the agents settled into their accommodations, which are designed to combine comfort with modern amenities. Julia Labedz, representing ITTN, was particularly impressed with her Deluxe King Room, which offers stunning views of the pool and the sea.

Exploring Barbados’ West Coast Hotels

The first full day of the trip commenced with a visit to the island’s renowned Platinum Coast. The itinerary included a site inspection at Waves Hotel & Spa by Elegant Hotels. Hosted by Ryan Rayside, the property is notable for its wellness-focused experience, offering complimentary Pilates and yoga sessions. Every room is equipped with yoga mats, allowing guests to practice in the comfort of their own space. Guests booking five nights or more in Ocean View accommodations receive three complimentary spa vouchers, enhancing the wellness experience.

The group then moved on to All Seasons Resort, presented by Soni Kessuram. This laid-back property features spacious one-bedroom suites with kitchenettes, making it ideal for families and independent travelers. Surrounded by lush gardens, the resort boasts a large swimming pool and easy access to local beaches.

At Mango Bay Hotel, the agents met with Michelle Gibson, who provided a guided tour of the compact, all-inclusive property. With only 76 rooms, this beachside hotel emphasizes personalized service and offers a range of activities, including complimentary water sports. Guests can enjoy a beachfront restaurant, swimming pool, and well-equipped gym facilities.

The next stop was the Fairmont Royal Pavilion, where Tonisha Niles greeted the group. This luxury resort features a beachfront location and classic colonial architecture. Each room offers ocean views, and the beautifully landscaped gardens create a tranquil atmosphere. Although the hotel was fully booked, the quality of the shared spaces indicated a high standard of accommodation.

Following a delightful lunch at the Sea Shed Restaurant, known for its fresh seafood, the group continued to The Crane Resort, hosted by Karen Oliver. With a history dating back to 1887, The Crane has transformed into a modern resort village, offering residential-style suites with breathtaking views of Crane Beach. The tour included various accommodations, highlighting the property’s appeal for both families and couples.

The day concluded with dinner at Zen Restaurant, renowned for its authentic Japanese and Thai cuisine. The group was treated to a private dining experience, enjoying dishes such as Tom Kha soup and green curry, while Karen Oliver shared insights about the resort’s history.

Julia Labedz expressed gratitude to BTMI, TTR, and Aer Lingus for organizing an informative and enjoyable start to the week. As the trip progresses, the agents are eager to explore more of what Barbados has to offer. More updates will be shared on ITTN’s website and social media channels.
