URGENT: Major Recall of Turkey & Ham Dinners in Ireland

ALERT: A critical food safety alert has been issued across Ireland as several popular Turkey & Ham Dinners have been urgently recalled due to the potential presence of Listeria monocytogenes, a harmful bacteria that can cause serious illness. The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) confirmed this urgent action late yesterday.
All pack sizes, batch codes, and use-by dates of the affected meals sold in Centra and SuperValu supermarkets, as well as those under the Good Food Locally Sourced label, are included in this recall. Customers are strongly advised to check their fridges immediately and dispose of these products without consumption.
The Turkey & Ham Dinners, produced by Ballymaguire Foods, carry the approval number 4008. A spokesperson for the FSAI emphasized,
“Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated Turkey & Ham Dinners.”
Symptoms of Listeria infection can range from mild flu-like illness to nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. In severe cases, this infection can lead to life-threatening complications, especially among vulnerable groups including pregnant women, babies, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Alarmingly, symptoms may take up to 70 days to develop, although they typically present within three weeks.
Retailers are mandated to remove all affected stock from their shelves and display recall notices prominently. Additionally, wholesalers and caterers have been instructed not to distribute or serve these products.
This urgent recall underscores the importance of food safety and consumer awareness. The FSAI is actively monitoring the situation and urges anyone who has purchased these dinners to take immediate action.
Stay tuned for further updates on the situation. Your health and safety are paramount.
