Irish EuroMillions Player Celebrates €500,000 Win Just Before Christmas
An Irish player has experienced a life-changing moment, winning €500,000 in the EuroMillions Plus draw shortly before Christmas. The fortunate winner, hailing from Letterkenny in Donegal, purchased a Quick Pick ticket on December 9, 2023, from XL Blaney Stores in Lagg, Milford.
Upon discovering the significant win, the individual expressed disbelief, stating, “I’m still in complete disbelief! It hasn’t sunk in yet.” The timing of the jackpot could not be more fortuitous, as the player looks forward to celebrating the holidays and contemplating future plans without any immediate intentions for the prize.
Unclaimed Prize Reminder for Donegal Players
In addition to this remarkable win, the National Lottery has announced that a separate €500,000 Daily Millions Plus prize from the draw on October 12, 2023, remains unclaimed. This winning ticket, purchased at the Ardara Filling Station on the Portnoo Road, features the numbers 9, 16, 24, 29, 32, 38, with a bonus number of 5.
All holders of National Lottery tickets have a window of 90 days from the draw date to claim their prizes. Therefore, the winner of this Daily Million Plus prize has until January 10, 2026, to come forward.
Darragh O’Dwyer, a spokesperson for the National Lottery, commented on the recent wins: “Donegal has seen some incredible wins recently, including a €500,000 EuroMillions Plus prize on December 9th and a €500,000 Daily Million Plus prize from the 2pm draw on October 12th. We were delighted to welcome our Letterkenny EuroMillions Plus winner to National Lottery HQ to claim their prize, and we’re eagerly awaiting to hear from the Daily Million Plus winner who purchased their ticket at Ardara Filling Station.”
O’Dwyer encouraged residents in the area to double-check any old tickets, stating that “you never know – your winning ticket could be sitting in a drawer or jacket pocket right now.”
Winners are reminded to sign the back of their tickets and keep them safe. Prize claims can be made by contacting the National Lottery prize claims team at 1800 666 222 or via email at [email protected]. Arrangements will be made for winners to collect their prizes at National Lottery headquarters.
As the holiday season approaches, this win serves as a reminder of the joy and excitement that comes with unexpected fortunes, giving players in Donegal a hopeful reason to check their tickets.
