Ali Abdelaziz Critiques Conor McGregor’s Latest Training Video

Former rival to Conor McGregor, Ali Abdelaziz, has publicly criticized the Irish fighter’s latest training video, which surfaced on social media. McGregor, a prominent figure in mixed martial arts (MMA), has been sharing clips of his training sessions as he gears up for a possible return to competition. In the most recent video, he showcases his striking skills during what appears to be a kickboxing sparring session.
Abdelaziz, who managed McGregor’s longtime adversary Khabib Nurmagomedov, did not hold back in his assessment. On the platform X, he commented, “Easy to look good sparring with the Uber driver,” implying that McGregor’s choice of training partner may not be up to par. This comment has sparked discussions among fans and analysts about the significance of sparring partners in an athlete’s training regimen.
McGregor’s Return to Training and UFC Eligibility
The former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion has recently resumed training after a lengthy hiatus. His activity in the gym, coupled with his return to the UFC’s anti-doping pool, signals a potential comeback. McGregor will be eligible to compete once he completes six months of clean doping tests, a requirement for fighters looking to return after a suspension.
McGregor has not stepped into the octagon since 2021, when he faced Dustin Poirier twice, suffering defeats in both bouts. There were plans for him to return in 2024 to face Michael Chandler, but that matchup was scrapped due to a toe injury sustained by McGregor.
Ambitions Beyond the Octagon
In addition to his training, McGregor has hinted at aspirations beyond his MMA career. He has made public statements suggesting he is considering a run for the Irish presidency. To bolster this ambition, he even initiated a petition aimed at getting his name on the ballot paper for the upcoming election.
This combination of training for a potential return to the UFC while exploring political avenues illustrates McGregor’s multifaceted approach to his career. As he continues to share updates through social media, the MMA community watches closely, eager to see what the future holds for the outspoken athlete.
