Lauren Walsh stands just two strokes away from securing one of the coveted 25 LPGA Tour cards as the LPGA Q-Series Final Qualifying continues in Alabama. The 25-year-old golfer from Castlewarden delivered an impressive performance, shooting a two-under 69 during the third round at the Falls Course at Magnolia Grove in Mobile.

As play resumed on the fourth day, Walsh had completed seven holes of her final round on the Crossings Course, finishing one-under par. This effort placed her tied for 31st at two-under overall when play was halted due to darkness. She now finds herself just outside the cut line for the top 25 players who will earn LPGA Tour status.

At the top of the leaderboard, Jing Yan of China leads with an impressive 11-under through ten holes of her final round, holding a narrow one-stroke advantage over Japan’s Kokona Sakurai and Germany’s Helen Briem, who have completed nine and seven holes, respectively.

Several notable players are within qualifying positions, including Perrine Delacour of France (T5), Chiara Tamburlini of Switzerland (T8), Jodi Ewart Shadoff from England, and Nastasia Nadaud of France (T15). Other contenders include Frida Kinhult from Sweden and Mimi Rhodes from England (T18), as well as Carolina Melgrati from Italy (T23) and Ana Belac from Slovenia (T27).

The tournament, initially planned for five rounds, faced challenges on its opening day due to waterlogging, resulting in a reduction to a 72-hole format without a cut. The decision was made to ensure a timely finish by Tuesday.

With the pressure mounting, Walsh is poised to make her mark as the final rounds unfold, with the potential for a significant career breakthrough on the horizon. As the competition intensifies, all eyes will be on the remaining players as they vie for a spot on the prestigious LPGA Tour.
