Channel 4 Confirms New Series of Celebs Go Dating Following Success

Channel 4 has announced a new series of Celebs Go Dating, set to return in 2024, following what has been termed one of the most sensational seasons in the show’s history. As the current season unfolds, the network has already committed to a future installment, hinting at a possible return to Ibiza, the location featured prominently this season.
Channel 4’s Quick Decision Reflects Show’s Popularity
The rapid commissioning of the new series reflects the enthusiasm from Channel 4 executives regarding the show’s reception. An insider shared, “Channel 4 chiefs have been delighted by the response to this year’s CGD, so it was a no-brainer to go ahead and commission more.” The decision comes while the latest season is still generating buzz, particularly around contestant Christine McGuinness, who made headlines with her candid approach to dating.
This season has seen McGuinness, who was previously married to presenter Paddy McGuinness, exploring her attractions to both men and women. However, she eventually withdrew from the dating process, highlighting the emotional complexities of her journey. Meanwhile, Kerry Katona has kept viewers entertained with her emotional rollercoaster, providing both touching and comedic moments throughout the series.
The current season, which features personalities like Mark Labbett from The Chase, began airing last month and continues to captivate audiences. Filming for the 15th season is expected to commence in early 2024, allowing narrator Rob Beckett ample time to craft new humorous commentary.
Exciting Developments in Other Channel 4 Productions
In addition to the dating series, Channel 4 is also expanding its programming slate with new content. The BBC One war thriller SAS Rogue Heroes has initiated filming for its third series, with Jack O’Connell returning as Paddy Mayne alongside new cast members Nick Hargrove, Andrew Dawson, and Jake Jarratt. Show creator and writer Steven Knight commented on the high stakes of the upcoming episodes, stating, “Never has the war been so bloody and never have the stakes been so high.”
Additionally, filming has started for Tip Toe, a new thriller from acclaimed writer Russell T Davies, featuring actors Alan Cumming and David Morrissey. The series, which consists of five episodes, explores the intense relationship between two neighbors who become deadly enemies.
Moreover, former Celebrity Big Brother contestant Donna Preston is developing a documentary about her experience with an ex-partner who defrauded her of £20,000. This project aims to serve as both a personal catharsis and a warning to others about the risks of romantic scams.
As Channel 4 continues to expand its lineup, the network is also welcoming new contributors to the popular show Gogglebox. The upcoming 26th series will feature new armchair critics, including families and couples from various regions, promising to add fresh perspectives to the beloved format.
With such dynamic projects in the pipeline, Channel 4 is clearly committed to delivering engaging content that resonates with audiences across the board.
