Clinton’s Epstein Files Fallout: Staffer Claims White House Shielding
UPDATE: The fallout from the Epstein files continues as Bill Clinton‘s deputy chief of staff claims the White House is “shielding” itself following the release of controversial photographs. The photos, which surfaced on December 19, 2023, show Clinton alongside convicted sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell, intensifying scrutiny on the former president.
The newly released images include one of Clinton in a swimming pool with Maxwell, along with another unidentified individual. A second image shows Clinton with Jeffrey Epstein, as reported by the Express. Despite the high-profile nature of these images, there is currently no indication of wrongdoing by Clinton.
The U.S. Department of Justice began releasing the Epstein files yesterday at approximately 9 PM GMT, making documents related to Epstein available on a newly launched page titled “Epstein Library.” Clinton’s relationship with Epstein has been under the microscope, particularly since flight logs indicate he took around 26-27 flights on Epstein’s private jet between 2002 and 2003. Clinton’s office maintains these were related to Clinton Foundation work.
Clinton has consistently denied any knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activities, claiming he severed ties around 2005 and never visited Epstein’s private island. He has stated, “I know nothing about the terrible crimes” committed by Epstein.
The focus on Clinton has raised eyebrows nationally. Peter Baker, Chief White House Correspondent for the New York Times, noted on social media that former President Donald Trump may be attempting to divert attention from his own ties to Epstein by calling for investigations into Democrats connected to the convicted financier.
Late last night, Angel Ureña, Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, issued a strong statement on social media. He argued that the White House’s timing of the file release was not intended to protect Clinton but to shield itself from upcoming scrutiny. “The White House hasn’t been hiding these files for months only to dump them late on a Friday to protect Bill Clinton,” Ureña stated, emphasizing that the situation is about broader accountability.
Ureña also referenced comments made by White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, who stated there is “no evidence” that Clinton made numerous trips to Epstein’s island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He concluded, “Everyone, especially MAGA, expects answers, not scapegoats,” drawing a clear line between those who distanced themselves from Epstein and those who maintained relationships with him.
As unsealed court documents continue to be released, Clinton’s name appears frequently as an associate. However, reports confirm that there are no credible allegations of wrongdoing against him in connection with Epstein’s sex trafficking operations.
Access to the Epstein Library has been problematic, with users experiencing long queues and error messages stating, “your queue number has been rejected.” A privacy notice on the site warns that despite efforts to redact sensitive information, some non-public details may still be present.
This developing story is poised to have significant implications as more information is unveiled. Watch for updates as the situation evolves and further statements are expected from Clinton’s team and other officials involved. Public interest remains high as the implications of these revelations continue to unfold, making it crucial to stay informed on this urgent matter.
