Donegal Women’s Centre Urges Support During Holiday Crisis
URGENT UPDATE: Donegal Women’s Centre has just announced critical support information for individuals facing crises during the holiday season. While many celebrate, this time can be incredibly difficult for those struggling with mental health issues, domestic abuse, or feelings of isolation.
From December 23 at 1 PM until January 5, the centre will be closed, yet vital support services will remain accessible throughout this period. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or at risk of harm, contact An Garda Síochána at 112 or 999, or reach out to your local Garda Station in Donegal.
For emotional support, the Samaritans are available 24/7 at Freephone 116 123. Alternatively, individuals can text HELLO to 50808 for confidential assistance from trained volunteers, any time of day.
Pieta’s Free 24/7 Crisis Helpline can be reached at 1800 247 247 or by texting HELP to 51444. Those experiencing domestic violence can contact Donegal Domestic Violence Services at 1800 262 677 or mobile 087 381 2438 for immediate support.
The National 24-hour Rape Crisis Helpline is also available at 1800 77 8888, along with the Sexual Assault Treatment Unit in Letterkenny at 087 068 1964.
It’s crucial to remember that support is available, and no one should face these struggles alone. Please share these numbers widely to help those in need during this challenging time.
For more information, visit Donegal Women’s Centre’s official channels or reach out directly to the helplines mentioned. Stay safe and look out for one another this holiday season.
