First Games Set to Kick Off at Renville Sports Grounds in Oranmore
UPDATE: The highly anticipated first games at the new Renville sports grounds in Oranmore are set to take place this weekend, marking a significant milestone for the local community. Starting tomorrow, September 30, 2023, U11 boys and girls teams from St Vincent’s and Kilmacud Croke’s will compete against Oranmore Marree GAA One Club’s U11 teams on the brand-new 4G astro pitch.
This momentous occasion comes as part of a project that has been in development since 2017, with construction commencing just this September. The completed facility will not only host these exciting matches but will eventually feature four pitches, warm-up areas, a clubhouse, community facilities, a ball wall, a walking and running track, a playground, and a sensory garden.
Chair of Oranmore Marree GAA One Club, Sean Greene, expressed his excitement, stating, “We’re delighted to see the project start to come to fruition.” This project represents a major investment in local sports and community engagement, providing a platform for youth development and community interaction.
The launch of the Renville sports grounds is expected to attract attention beyond just local teams, fostering a sense of pride and unity within the community. As the games kick off, families and fans are encouraged to come out and support the young athletes, making this a pivotal moment for Oranmore.
With the first matches just hours away, the atmosphere is charged with enthusiasm and anticipation. Stay tuned for updates and highlights from the inaugural games at Renville sports grounds!
