Fundraiser Surges to Bring Chloe Hipson Home After Tragic Crash

URGENT UPDATE: Heartbroken family and friends are rallying to bring the body of Chloe Hipson, a 21-year-old victim of a tragic road accident in Co Louth, Ireland, back to her home in Scotland. A GoFundMe campaign launched by Bellshill Amateurs FC is already raising significant funds, with over €30,000 (€26,600) contributed by more than 1,100 donors.

Chloe was killed alongside four friends during a devastating collision on November 11, 2023, just after 9 PM. The group was traveling in a Volkswagen Golf when it collided with a Toyota Land Cruiser on the Ardee Road at Gibstown. A sixth occupant from the Golf survived with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released from the hospital.

A gathering for friends and family will take place today, November 19, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Eternity Room of Quinn’s Funeral Home in Dundalk. This event allows loved ones to pay their respects before Chloe’s remains are repatriated.

Chloe Hipson was a second-year student at the Dundalk Institute of Technology. Her passing has left her family devastated. In her death notice, her family expressed the profound loss felt by her parents, brothers, and extended family, stating, “She will be so missed by her heartbroken parents, brothers, Brodé, grandparents, extended family, and many friends.”

The fundraiser, titled ‘Chloe Hipson’, aims to cover funeral costs and the expenses associated with bringing Chloe home. Ryan, Chloe’s brother and a player at Bellshill Amateurs, expressed the club’s sorrow, stating, “A young woman ready to live her life taken from her family far too soon. We are looking to help the Hipson family raise funds towards funeral costs and the costs of bringing Chloe home so that they can say their goodbyes properly.”
