Indian Man Brutally Attacked in Dublin: “Take My Things!”

BREAKING: A brutal attack on an Indian man in Dublin has sent shockwaves through the community. Laxman Das, a 51-year-old chef and Irish citizen, was assaulted on August 6 while riding his e-scooter to work at the Anantara The Marker Dublin hotel.
The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning when Laxman encountered a group of men on the road. Describing the horrific moment, he recounted, “three people were just on the road….they came over slow and stopped me.” One attacker demanded, “give me your valuables,” before launching a relentless assault on Laxman.
Shocking details reveal that Laxman’s helmet was damaged during the attack, and he sustained injuries to his face, back, and eye. “Everywhere was injured…they were hitting me so much,” he said. Despite pleading with his assailants to stop hitting him and to take his belongings instead, the violence continued.
Laxman shouted for help, but sadly, no one came to his aid. After the attack, he discovered his e-bike, phone, and cash had been stolen. Pushed to the ground, he lost consciousness and woke up alone, with his attackers gone. Laxman managed to walk to his workplace to summon an ambulance and was subsequently treated for his injuries at St Vincent’s Hospital. He was discharged that same evening around 9 PM.
This incident follows a disturbing trend of racial attacks in Dublin, including a recent assault on an Indian taxi driver and an attack on an Indian girl by teenagers. The growing violence has sparked fear within the Indian community in Ireland.
In light of these events, An Garda Síochána has been contacted for further comment, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are urged to enhance safety measures as the community grapples with these alarming incidents.
As the situation develops, local residents and officials are calling for increased vigilance and support for victims of hate crimes. The community’s response and solidarity will be crucial in addressing this urgent issue.
