Kilkenny Camogie Announces New Management Team After Shefflin Exit
BREAKING: Kilkenny Camogie has just confirmed a significant shake-up in its management team following the departure of Tommy Shefflin. The new appointments include Jimmy Meagher from St Lachtain’s, David Dowling of Tullaroan, Eoin Murphy from Conahy Shamrocks, Kieran Brennan of James Stephens, Stephen Farrell from St Lachtain’s, and Strength Conditioning Lead Coach James Kelly of O’Loughlin Gaels. This updated management structure is set to be ratified at the upcoming County Board Meeting.
The announcement comes just weeks after Shefflin stepped down from his position, having led the team for one season. Under his guidance, the Kilkenny camogie team achieved notable success, clinching the Leinster championship before facing a defeat by Tipperary in the All-Ireland quarter-finals.
A Kilkenny Camogie spokesperson expressed optimism for the future, stating, “Best of luck for the 2026 season.” The new management team will be crucial in shaping the squad’s strategy as they look to build on last season’s achievements.
Fans and players alike are eager to see how the fresh leadership will influence the team’s performance in the coming season. With a blend of experienced coaches, the organization aims to strengthen its competitive edge and regain its standing in the league.
