Local Trainer Eric McNamara Scores Thrilling 18/1 Treble at Limerick
BREAKING: Local trainer Eric McNamara has achieved an impressive 18/1 treble at the National Hunt Meeting held at Limerick’s Greenmount Park on Tuesday. The thrilling victories signal a remarkable day for McNamara and his team, capturing the attention of racing enthusiasts.
The triumphs included West Of Bally, a favorite at 2/5f in the Maiden Hurdle worth €10,000, ridden by jockey Calum Hogan. The other two wins came from Lenjoleur De Palma and Hees Dynamatie, both at odds of 11/4 in the Handicap Hurdles, with the latter pair impressively piloted by Paddy O’Brien.
McNamara expressed confidence in West Of Bally, stating, “He is a nice horse going forward, is very straightforward, jumps well and will stay further.” He highlighted the horse’s thorough preparation under the guidance of Willie Murphy, who previously schooled him for point-to-pointing. McNamara is optimistic about the future, hoping that the handicapper will be lenient and that his star horse might return for a race at Christmas.
The local ownership group of West Of Bally, consisting of friends Michael Joyce, Tommy Kelly, Mike McDermott, and Pat Doyle, celebrated their victory alongside their families at the event.
In another notable achievement, veteran owner/trainer Michael McDonagh saw his horse Happy Dremans clinch victory at odds of 28/1, showcasing the unpredictable nature of racing. Meanwhile, in the finale, jockey Emily Costello guided Mossy Way to a dominant success at 5/4, trained by Pat Doyle.
As the excitement unfolds at Limerick, fans and participants alike are eagerly anticipating what the future holds for these talented horses and their dedicated trainers. Keep an eye on McNamara’s rising star, as his next race could be just around the corner.
