Queen Camilla Reveals Assault Experience, Advocates for Education
BREAKING: Queen Camilla has bravely shared her traumatic experience as a victim of an indecent assault during a live interview on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, just hours ago. This shocking revelation comes as she reflects on the incident detailed in her recently published book, Power and the Palace, released in early 2025.
Speaking with racing commentator John Hunt, Queen Camilla recounted the harrowing event that occurred when she was around 16 or 17 years old while traveling on a train to Paddington Station in London. She described how a man had inappropriately touched her, leading to her instinctively striking him with the heel of her shoe before bravely reporting the assault at the station, where she witnessed his arrest.
Reflecting on the emotional aftermath, Queen Camilla admitted to feeling “angry” and “furious.” “I was physically attacked, but I remember anger, and I was so furious about it,” she stated. The Queen noted that she had “sort of forgotten” the incident over the years, but felt compelled to share her story after witnessing Hunt’s resilience following the tragic loss of his wife and daughters.
In the programme, guest-edited by former Prime Minister Theresa May, Queen Camilla emphasized the urgent need for education on respectful behavior towards women. “If you can get them early enough and teach them respect for women, I think that’s so important to get into schools,” she urged, stressing that addressing these issues must become a priority in society.
This urgent appeal comes at a time when discussions surrounding violence against women are more critical than ever. Queen Camilla’s candidness serves not only as a personal catharsis but also as a rallying cry for systemic change in how young men are educated regarding relationships and respect.
