South Galway Operation Transformation Kicks Off January 3, 2026
URGENT UPDATE: The highly anticipated third South Galway Operation Transformation Programme is set to launch on January 3, 2026, with St Colman’s Camogie Club leading a community-driven fitness initiative expected to surpass last year’s participation of over 400 determined individuals. This year, the program promises an even more robust lineup, featuring 16 dedicated leaders guiding participants through a variety of engaging activities.
The kickoff event will be a community walk along the scenic Gort River Walk, inviting everyone to take their first steps toward a healthier lifestyle. The programme will last for six weeks, offering opportunities for all ages and fitness levels to get active, stay healthy, and connect with others in the community.
The initiative includes a wide array of activities such as walks, runs, half marathon training, Couch 2 5K groups, and specialized kids’ fitness sessions. Participants will also have access to exciting bonus activities ranging from yoga to MMA, aqua aerobics to gym introductions, and even pickleball.
Paula Gallagher, PRO for St Colman’s Camogie Club, expressed enthusiasm about this year’s offering:
“We are delighted to bring such a diverse, supportive, and fun programme to South Galway again this year. There’s something for everyone, no matter your age or fitness level.”
The program is supported by a strong fitness community, including partners like Swan Leisure, Powerhouse Gym, West Coast MMA, and more, ensuring participants receive expert guidance and support throughout their journey.
Registration is now open through St Colman’s Camogie Club, allowing individuals to seize the chance to kickstart their 2026 resolutions with a vibrant, active community program. As the event approaches, excitement builds for the chance to engage in a socially enriching environment focused on health and fitness.
