**Teenage Boy Dies After Tractor Crash in Co Clare, Urgent Appeal for Witnesses**
UPDATE: A 16-year-old boy has tragically died following a severe single-vehicle crash involving a tractor in Co Clare. The accident occurred on the R458 at Bunnahow, just north of Crusheen, at approximately 2pm on Saturday, according to An Garda Síochána.
Authorities report that emergency services were dispatched immediately, but the sole occupant of the tractor was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the incident. This latest tragedy adds to the alarming statistics, with a total of 186 fatalities reported on Ireland’s roads in 2025 as of December 23. In comparison, there were 167 deaths during the same period in 2024.
The road remains closed as forensic collision investigators conduct a thorough examination, and local diversions are currently in place. The local coroner has been notified, and the teenager’s body has been transported to the University Hospital Limerick for a postmortem examination.
In light of this incident, Gardaí are urgently appealing for witnesses. They request that anyone who may have seen the crash or has relevant camera footage, including dashcam recordings taken on the R458 between Gort and Crusheen around the time of the collision, come forward.
