Three Orange Lights Reported in Perfect Triangle Over Northern Ireland

Reports of three orange lights arranged in a “perfect triangle” have emerged from Northern Ireland, adding to a series of UFO sightings in the region. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) documented these incidents, which included a call from Abbey Park in Armagh on their non-emergency line, where witnesses described the lights as moving before dispersing.

In total, the PSNI received three reports concerning unidentified flying objects. One call noted an unidentified object “above the airport/docks,” registered from an address in Cyprus Park, believed to be located in east Belfast. Another emergency call from Coleraine mentioned a “UFO” before the line disconnected. According to the PSNI, these reports were recorded for information purposes only, and at the time, no ongoing investigations or lines of inquiry were identified.

UFO Sightings on the Rise

The frequency of UFO sightings in Northern Ireland has fluctuated over the past five years. Reports increased from four in 2019 to six in 2020, followed by eight in 2021. The figures then dropped to one in 2022, and no sightings were reported from January 1 to November 1, 2023. Despite the lack of reports this year, two sightings of alleged aliens and one account of “strange lights” were recorded.

In 2024, the PSNI noted three separate UFO reports. One notable account came from a caller in Belfast, who described observing an object rising in the sky, complete with a vapor trail but emitting no sound. This object featured green and red flashing lights and moved over their residence towards the dock area.

The PSNI did not receive any reports concerning widely discussed lights in the sky across Ireland in October 2023, which were later attributed to debris from a rocket that had been launched in Florida.

Expert Insights on Reporting Trends

The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) previously maintained a dedicated UFO desk but closed it in 2009, concluding that no evidence of a potential threat had been revealed in over 50 years of reports. Nick Pope, a former investigator of UFO reports for the MoD, expressed concern regarding the low reporting numbers. He suggested that many individuals may hesitate to report sightings due to fears of not being taken seriously.

“While these figures are very low, it doesn’t mean people in Northern Ireland aren’t seeing strange things in the skies,” Pope remarked to the Press Association. He pointed out that the recent wave of sightings reported across Ireland in October demonstrated that people are indeed witnessing unusual phenomena, even if a US rocket launch caused the specific incidents in question.

Pope further suggested that the reluctance to report such sightings might lead people to contact military personnel, the media, or civilian UFO research groups rather than local police. He advocated for the establishment of an official reporting focal point for UFO sightings, which would help gather more comprehensive data on unidentified aerial phenomena.

As interest in UFOs continues to grow, the PSNI’s documentation of these reports indicates a persistent curiosity among the public regarding what lies beyond our understanding of the skies.
