Two Elderly Men Perish in House Fire in Co. Sligo
Two elderly men tragically lost their lives in a house fire in County Sligo on Sunday, December 28, 2025. Emergency services, including the Garda Síochána and the National Ambulance Service, responded promptly to the incident reported around 11:00 AM near the village of Easkey.
Upon arrival, responders discovered the two men, both in their 80s, had succumbed to the fire. Despite the rapid response and efforts from medical personnel, the men were pronounced dead at the scene. Fortunately, no other injuries have been reported.

In the aftermath of the fire, a comprehensive investigation has been initiated by the Garda Síochána. According to a spokesperson, “Gardaí are investigating a fatal house fire that occurred in Co. Sligo. The scene is currently preserved for technical examination, and investigations are ongoing.”
