Urgent Appeal After Passport and Cash Stolen in Letterkenny Burglary
UPDATE: In a shocking incident, a burglary in Letterkenny has left residents on high alert after a passport and a significant sum of cash were stolen. The break-in occurred on November 15, 2025, at approximately 4:15 PM, at a residence in Whitethorn Park.
Authorities have confirmed that two suspects gained entry through a damaged kitchen window. Surveillance footage captured the men shortly before the crime, walking from Whitethorn Grove to Whitethorn Park. One suspect is described as tall, wearing blue jeans and a navy shell-type jacket, while the other is shorter and donned all black.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant as Gardaí appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the suspects or who were in the area between 3:45 PM and 4:45 PM to come forward. Those with dash-cam footage are particularly encouraged to assist in the investigation.
The incident has raised concerns within the community, prompting Gardaí to intensify patrols in the area. The theft of personal items, especially passports, can have serious ramifications for victims, including identity theft and travel complications.
