Gardaí confirmed that Hackett was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Coroner has been notified, and her body has been taken to the University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem examination.

This devastating news has sent shockwaves through the local community. Fianna Fáil Councillor for Nenagh, JP O’Meara, expressed deep sorrow, stating, “Everyone in the parish and in the area of Toomevara is deeply shocked and saddened at her sudden passing.” Labour Councillor Louise Morgan Walsh echoed this sentiment, calling it “devastating news” and extending thoughts to the grieving family.

Authorities are appealing for witnesses to come forward, urging anyone who may have seen the incident or has dash-cam footage from the area during the specified times to contact them. Information can be shared with Nenagh Garda Station at 067 50450 or the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111.

In a separate but equally tragic incident, a man in his 40s was also killed in a single-vehicle crash in Birdhill on the same day. He, too, was the sole occupant of his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been taken to the same hospital for further examination.

Gardaí continue to seek information regarding this incident as well. They urge anyone who may have been traveling on the R445 between 10 PM last night and 8 AM this morning to reach out with any relevant footage or information.

The community is reeling from these unfortunate events, highlighting the urgent need for road safety awareness. As investigations continue, families and friends of the deceased are left to cope with their profound loss.
