ITTN Explores Barbados with BTMI and Aer Lingus on Fam Trip
Travel industry professionals are embarking on a familiarization trip to Barbados, led by ITTN’s Julia Labedz in collaboration with Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) and Aer Lingus. The initiative aims to promote Barbados as a premier destination for travelers from Ireland and the UK, while highlighting Aer Lingus’ direct flight service from Manchester to the Caribbean island.
The group departed from Dublin Airport on Sunday morning, boarding Aer Lingus flight EI202 at 06:30. After a short stop in Manchester, they transitioned to the transatlantic service EI31, which took off at 10:30. The flight landed at Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados at 15:35 local time. The direct route simplifies the long journey for travelers, making it more accessible to explore the island’s offerings.
Onboard flight EI31, the group enjoyed a comfortable eight-hour flight, complete with generous legroom, hot meals, and an extensive selection of in-flight entertainment. Aer Lingus’ cabin crew are known for their warm hospitality, which helps create a welcoming atmosphere even at cruising altitude, with sun-soaked Barbados awaiting their arrival.
Luxury Accommodation and Unique Experiences Await
During their six-day itinerary, the group will stay at two prominent hotels. The first stop is the Wyndham Grand Barbados, Sam Lord’s Castle Resort & Spa, located on the southeastern coast. This all-inclusive, oceanfront resort blends the island’s rich heritage with modern amenities. Guests can expect stunning ocean-view rooms, multiple swimming pools, diverse dining options, and a full-service spa, all while overlooking the historic Sam Lord’s Castle.
Later in the week, the group will transfer to the O2 Beach Club & Spa, a luxury all-inclusive resort situated on the south coast. Known for its premium amenities and exquisite design, this property features fine dining, a full-service spa, and breathtaking oceanfront views, ensuring a memorable experience for all guests.
The itinerary is packed with activities designed to enhance agents’ understanding of Barbados as a travel destination. The group will conduct hotel site inspections across both the west and south coasts, allowing them to discover a variety of accommodation options. In addition, participants will embark on a bus tour of the island, enjoy a catamaran cruise, and savor local dining experiences.
ITTN extends its gratitude to BTMI and Aer Lingus for the opportunity to participate in this exceptional trip. Stay updated on their experiences through ITTN’s website and social media channels, as they share insights from what promises to be a vibrant and enriching week in Barbados.
