Cork Film “Christy” Premieres to Rave Reviews in Hometown

UPDATE: The highly anticipated film Christy, directed by Brendan Canty and written by Alan O’Gorman, premiered to an enthusiastic crowd at the Omniplex in Mahon Point, Cork City, just hours ago. This debut feature, which has already wowed audiences in Berlin and Galway, celebrates the essence of Cork and is making waves with its heartfelt story.

The film follows a 17-year-old named Christy, played by Danny Power of *The Young Offenders*, who moves in with his estranged brother Shane (portrayed by Diarmuid Noyes) in the suburb of Knocknaheeny. After a difficult departure from his foster family, Christy struggles to connect with Shane, who shares his home with partner Stacey (played by Emma Willis) and their infant daughter.
