Leon was diagnosed with the rare form of leukaemia in 2020. Despite undergoing intense treatments, including multiple relapses, a bone marrow transplant, and a CAR-T transplant, he faced each challenge with remarkable courage. His family has adapted to the hardships, ensuring Leon experienced a fulfilling life, including playing under-10s football.

Just last Sunday, Dutchy’s Fitness in Cavan organized a fundraising event in Leon’s honor, raising an impressive €10,000 for Oscar’s Kids, a charity dedicated to supporting children battling cancer. The event not only highlighted community support but also underscored the impact Leon made on those around him.

Leon will be laid to rest on September 14 at St Patrick’s Church, followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium in Dublin Road, Cavan. His death notice describes him as a beloved son, brother, and friend, deeply missed by his parents Alan and Diane, siblings Fionán, Caolán, and sister Allie, alongside extended family and friends.
