Man Arrested After €1.9 Million Drug Seizure in Wexford

A man in his 40s has been arrested following the seizure of nearly €2 million worth of illegal drugs in County Wexford, Ireland. This operation, known as Operation Tara, took place on August 22, 2025, in New Ross. Officers from the Wexford Crime Unit conducted a search at a premises where they discovered approximately 89 kilograms of cannabis and 2 kilograms of cocaine.
The total estimated value of the seized drugs is around €1.9 million. Specifically, the cannabis is valued at approximately €1.76 million, while the cocaine is estimated to be worth €140,000. The authorities have sent the confiscated substances for further analysis to determine their exact composition and potential distribution networks.
