Man Arrested After €1.9 Million Drug Bust in Co Wexford

URGENT UPDATE: A man has been arrested following a major drug seizure valued at nearly €1.9 million in Co Wexford. This significant operation, part of Operation Tara, took place in New Ross on August 22, 2025, as authorities continue their crackdown on drug trafficking.
During a targeted search of a premises, officers from the Wexford Crime Unit uncovered a staggering 89kg of cannabis, estimated to be worth €1.76 million, along with 2kg of cocaine, valued at €140,000. The drugs have been sent for further analysis as the investigation unfolds.
A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana confirmed that a man in his 40s has been apprehended in connection with the seizure. He is currently being held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at a local Garda station in Co. Wexford.
