Limerick’s New Food Festival Launches September 18-21, 2023

URGENT UPDATE: A brand new food festival, Flavours of Limerick, is launching in Limerick from September 18-21, 2023. This exciting event promises to transform the city into a vibrant hub of culinary delights, showcasing the rich food culture of the region.
The festival, organized by Limerick City and County Council (LCCC) and funded by the Mayor of Limerick’s Mayoral Fund, aims to highlight local food producers and elevate Limerick’s status as a premier food destination. Mayor John Moran emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “I felt strongly about allocating some of the Mayoral Fund to begin putting a spotlight on the quality of our food.”
This four-day festival will feature an array of activities, including tastings, live demonstrations, family-friendly events, and immersive food experiences. Each day is packed with unique events designed to engage food lovers and curious visitors alike.
The festival kicks off on Thursday, September 18, with the intriguing Mystery Dinner, held at a secret location revealed just hours before the event. Guests will enjoy an unforgettable dining experience curated by top local chefs in a captivating atmosphere.
On Friday, September 19, Nicholas Street will be transformed into a pedestrian paradise for the Street Feast party. This free community event, in collaboration with Culture Night, will feature food stations, live music, and an opportunity to celebrate local flavors and culture.
Saturday, September 20, brings the Sing-a-long Picnic to People’s Park, offering a family-friendly day filled with larger-than-life characters, picnic zones, and singalong fun for all ages. This interactive experience is set to delight families and children alike.
The festival culminates on Sunday, September 21, at the iconic Milk Market, which will serve as the hub for live cooking demonstrations. Renowned chefs such as Trisha Lewis and Tom Flavin will showcase their culinary skills on the main stage, alongside workshops, tastings, and a carefully curated selection of food stalls.
