Sports Star Named Suspect in Castlebar Assault Leaving Man Critical

URGENT UPDATE: A prominent sports star is now considered a suspect in a serious assault that has left a man in critical condition following an incident in Castlebar, Co Mayo, early Saturday morning. The Gardaí are investigating the assault, which occurred on Tucker Street around 2:50 AM.
The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was found lying in the street outside a pub and was later transported to Mayo University Hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, he has been transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, a specialist facility known for treating serious head injuries.
