Urgent Alert: Stop Using Airshield UVC Purifier Lamp Now!

URGENT UPDATE: The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has issued an immediate warning to owners of the Airshield UVC air purifier lamp, urging them to stop using the product right now. This critical safety advisory comes after the product was found to be non-compliant with the European law (Low Voltage Electrical Equipment) Regulations 2016.
Approximately 2,459 Airshield UVC air purifiers are currently in circulation across the Republic of Ireland. The CCPC cautions that unshielded exposure to UVC light may pose serious health and safety risks to users. The product’s claims regarding its UVC emitting capabilities have also raised significant concerns among authorities.
In a direct message to consumers, the CCPC strongly advises that all owners of the affected lamps immediately cease use. They also recommend contacting Irish Supply, the distributor, for information on potential remedies or returns.
This alarming warning highlights the urgency for consumers to act swiftly. If you own an Airshield UVC air purifier, it is crucial to prioritize your safety and comply with the CCPC’s directive.
Authorities are emphasizing that the risks associated with these lamps cannot be overlooked. The implications of using non-compliant electrical equipment could lead to severe health hazards, making this notice imperative for all affected users.
