Kilkenny Gardaí Issue Urgent Warning Ahead of CBS School Opening

URGENT UPDATE: Kilkenny gardaí are ramping up presence on Dunningstown Road as the new CBS Kilkenny complex prepares to open its doors this Wednesday morning. With the school set to accommodate 1,000 students, authorities stress that road safety rules must be strictly followed, warning that ignorance will not be accepted.
The official transition from the previous James’ Street site marks a significant development for the city’s educational landscape. Under the Project Nore initiative, former Minister for Education Norma Foley confirmed crucial funding last year to facilitate the construction of this state-of-the-art facility, which includes special classes for students with additional needs.
Ahead of the highly anticipated opening, Kilkenny gardaí took to social media to issue a stern reminder. “It is essential that people comply with the prohibitions intended to stop vehicular access to the new school from the Dunningstown Road,” they stated. “Unfortunately, FCNs will be issued to motorists who flout these regulatory signs as other road users will have their safety compromised.”
As families prepare for the school’s opening, the potential for increased traffic and congestion raises significant safety concerns. Parents and students alike are urged to adhere to the designated routes and heed all signage to ensure a smooth transition to the new facility.
This urgent warning underscores the importance of community cooperation as Kilkenny embarks on this educational milestone. With the school year just around the corner, the impact on local traffic patterns is expected to be profound, making compliance critical for the safety of all involved.
Stay tuned for further updates as the situation develops and more information becomes available on the CBS Kilkenny complex and its opening day procedures.
