URGENT UPDATE: A mother-of-two, Nataliia Voskanova, has tragically died in hospital after suffering severe injuries from an oil truck collision. The incident occurred on June 27, 2023, in Gorey, Co Wexford, and she passed away last Saturday after a two-month battle for her life.

Emergency services rushed the 60-something-year-old woman from Riverchapel, Courtown, to St Vincent’s University Hospital immediately after the accident. Despite extensive medical efforts, her condition deteriorated, leading to her untimely death.

Her husband, Ruben Voskanov, expressed his profound grief, stating, “Losing my wife has left a pain I cannot put into words.” He added, “Nataliia spent the last two months fighting bravely for her life in hospital, but despite all efforts of the doctors and her strength, she sadly passed away. She was my greatest support, my partner, my entire world.”

The local Ukrainian community is mourning this loss as well. Ukrainian Family Support honored Nataliia with a heartfelt tribute on social media, declaring: “Recently, our Ukrainian community lost one of its dear members – Nataliia Voskanova. May her memory be eternal.”

Nataliia is survived by her husband Ruben, their children Albert and Viktor, grandchildren David and Kyryl, and daughter-in-law Kateryna. A funeral service is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, at 11 AM, followed by a private cremation at Mount Jerome Crematorium in Harold’s Cross, Dublin.

In light of these tragic events, a GoFundMe campaign has been established to assist with the costs of returning Nataliia’s ashes to Ukraine. The campaign highlights the emotional and financial challenges faced by the family during this difficult time.

This story serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the fragility of life and the profound impact of such accidents on families and communities. The Voskanov family seeks support from the community as they navigate through this unimaginable loss.
