New Millionaire Emerges in Cappamore with €1 Million Lotto Win
A new millionaire has emerged in Cappamore, East Limerick, following a remarkable win in the Lotto Plus Raffle event held on the night of September 30, 2023. A local player purchased the winning ticket, valued at an astonishing €1,000,500, at Centra on Moore Street in the village. The news has brought an electrifying atmosphere to the community, as residents celebrate this life-changing victory.
Mark Lenihan, the owner of Centra, expressed his enthusiasm about the win, stating, “We’re absolutely delighted – this is huge for us, for the team, and for Cappamore! To think that a life-changing ticket was sold right here in our store is just incredible.” This win marks the first significant National Lottery victory for the store, and Lenihan extended his heartfelt congratulations to the winner, wishing them all the best for their future.
The Lotto Plus Raffle typically features between 60 and 120 winners, each receiving €500 in each draw. However, Saturday’s draw included a special twist. In addition to the standard prizes, every ticket bearing the winning raffle number was entered into a unique random draw, granting one lucky ticket holder an additional €1,000,000. While all 81 ticketholders with the winning number collected the standard prize, one fortunate player in Limerick took home a total of €1,000,500.
The winning raffle number was 3184.
In addition to the Limerick windfall, another significant win occurred that evening when a player from Dublin secured the Match Five + Bonus prize, worth €404,840. This ticket was purchased on September 4, 2023, at Spar, located on 13 South Circular Road, Dublin 8.
Both winners are advised to sign the back of their tickets and keep them safe. They should contact the National Lottery’s prize claims team at 1800 666 222 or via email at [email protected] to arrange the collection of their prizes at Lottery Headquarters.
The National Lottery has a strong tradition of contributing to community development. Nearly 30 cents of every euro spent on National Lottery games is redirected back into Good Causes, supporting initiatives in sports, youth programs, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage, and the Irish language. Since its establishment 37 years ago, the National Lottery has raised over €6.5 billion for these causes. In 2024 alone, €239.3 million was raised to support local projects across Ireland, highlighting the lottery’s role not only in changing individual lives but also in benefiting communities.
