Authorities Confirm Missing Dublin Boy Secretly Buried in Rucksack
URGENT UPDATE: Authorities have confirmed that the missing boy from north Dublin, presumed dead, was placed in a rucksack and secretly buried in marshy lands along the Portrane Road in Donabate. This shocking revelation comes as searches intensify in the area, where police are scouring the site for any trace of the child whose last sighting was in 2021.
The little boy, who would now be 7 years old, was reportedly wrapped in a blanket prior to being placed in the rucksack. Investigators believe he was buried over 4 km away from the apartment block where he was last seen alive. It has now been over a week since it was confirmed that the child is no longer alive.
Search operations resumed earlier this week, with dozens of officers combing through the sealed-off marshy land. The child’s mother, originally from Africa and now residing in Ireland, maintains that her son passed away in his sleep from natural causes. According to sources, the boy’s parents, who had previously put him up for adoption, later reclaimed him when he was about 18 months old.
A disturbing timeline has emerged, revealing that the boy’s body was kept in the apartment for a full 24 hours following his death before being transported and buried. A hand-dug shallow grave near the initial search site is now the focus of the investigation. Authorities are concerned that wildlife may have disturbed the remains, complicating the search efforts.
Earlier reports indicated that the mother, together with her solicitor Martin O’Donnell and investigators, pointed out a new burial spot to police last Saturday evening. This site is part of the area where initial searches began but in a different location.
Garda Síochána from Swords Station are leading the investigation, now working under the assumption that the boy’s remains are indeed buried on the land. “We are certain the child existed but that the child is now dead,” a source close to the investigation stated.
As the community grapples with this heart-wrenching situation, police continue to seek clarity on the circumstances surrounding this tragic case. The ongoing search represents not just an effort to find the boy but also to bring closure to a family and community deeply affected by this tragedy.
Updates are expected as authorities continue their investigation. Stay tuned for more information as this story develops.
