Bunsen Burger Joint Ranks 3rd Best in Europe for 2025!

UPDATE: Popular Irish burger chain Bunsen has just been named the third best burger joint in Europe by renowned global travel site Big 7 Travel. This exciting announcement comes as part of their annual 50 Best Burgers in Europe 2025 list, showcasing the best culinary delights across the continent.
Bunsen, which has been a staple of Irish cuisine since opening its doors in 2013, has captured the hearts—and appetites—of locals and tourists alike with its no-frills, high-quality burger offerings. The chain, founded by cousins Tom and Finn Gleeson, is celebrated for its minimalistic menu featuring just hamburgers and cheeseburgers, allowing customers to indulge in comfort food without the fuss.
According to Big 7 Travel, Bunsen stands out due to its commitment to simplicity and quality: “Nothing fancy, nothing over-the-top, just comfort food at its absolute best.” With hamburgers priced under €10 and hand-cut fries under €5, Bunsen offers an affordable dining option, especially in the bustling city center of Dublin.
The list reflects recommendations from Big 7 Travel’s editorial team and social media insights, making Bunsen’s recognition even more significant. The restaurant chain’s impressive third-place finish comes just behind Tommi’s Burger Joint in Iceland, which secured second place, and Black Bear Burger in London, known for their decadent “Double Bacon Miso Burger,” which took the top spot.
Bunsen is rapidly growing, with eight locations in Dublin, two in Belfast, and one in Cork. The restaurant prides itself on sourcing all its beef from FX Buckley, ensuring the meat is Black Aberdeen Angus and sourced from farms within 200 km of the city.
Tom Gleeson, who studied Business & Politics at Trinity College, honed his culinary skills at prestigious establishments such as Le Bernardin in New York and The Fat Duck before returning to Dublin to launch Bunsen. His and Finn’s dedication to quality and customer satisfaction has led to a loyal following, and their burger joint is now hailed as an iconic dining destination.
As Bunsen celebrates this remarkable achievement, burger lovers are encouraged to experience firsthand what has made this establishment a standout in Europe. The recognition not only highlights the restaurant’s commitment to quality but also emphasizes the growing reputation of Irish cuisine on the global stage.
What’s Next: Keep an eye on Bunsen as they continue to expand and delight patrons with their simple yet delicious offerings. For more breaking news from Ireland, stay tuned to our homepage for the latest updates and features!
