Dublin Cocktail Bar Hit by Overnight Burglary and Arson Attack

URGENT UPDATE: A popular cocktail bar in Dublin’s city center, Peruke and Periwig, has been cordoned off following a shocking overnight burglary and arson attack. The incident occurred earlier this morning on Dawson Street, just across from the Mansion House.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at 4:55 AM to extinguish the fire, which has left the establishment significantly damaged. Authorities confirm that Gardaí are actively investigating the situation, focusing on the dual charges of “burglary and criminal damage by fire.”
The area remains sealed off as investigators work diligently to gather evidence. Several Garda vehicles are still stationed at the site as the investigation continues. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries related to the fire.
The blaze caused temporary disruptions to city traffic and led to a brief suspension of Luas services in the area. However, both the street and the Green Line have since reopened, allowing normal operations to resume.
A spokesperson for the Gardaí stated, “Investigations are ongoing,” stressing the importance of public safety and the urgency of resolving this incident.
Residents and visitors in the bustling area are understandably shaken by the attack, raising concerns about safety in the neighborhood. As more details emerge, the community is left grappling with the implications of such a brazen act.
Stay tuned for updates on this developing story, as authorities work to uncover the motives behind this alarming incident.
