Urgent: Burglary and Arson Strike Popular Dublin Cocktail Bar

URGENT UPDATE: A significant incident of burglary and arson has struck the beloved cocktail bar, Peruke and Periwig, located on Dawson Street in Dublin City Centre. The alarming event unfolded just before 5 AM on September 19, 2025, prompting immediate responses from both Gardai and fire services.
Authorities report that the fire was swiftly extinguished, and thankfully, no injuries have been reported. A Gardai spokesperson confirmed, “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of an incident of burglary and criminal damage by fire, at a licensed premises on Dawson Street, Dublin 2, that occurred this morning at approximately 4:55 AM.”
The area has been secured for a detailed technical investigation as Gardai delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding this disturbing event. “The scene is preserved for technical investigation,” added the spokesperson.
Witnesses reported a heavy fire presence at the scene, leading to temporary road closures and disruptions to public transport services in the area. However, authorities have since reopened the roads, allowing traffic to return to normal.
