Ford Drives Fundraising Efforts for Irish Guide Dogs in Limerick

Ford Ireland has announced a partnership with the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind, launching the “Drive 4 Ur Community” campaign aimed at raising funds for the charity. The initiative will take place at Lyons of Limerick Ford on October 4, 2023, as part of a series of events across the country. For every test drive taken at participating Ford dealerships over five weekends in September and October, Ford will contribute €30 to the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind.
The campaign is not limited to Limerick; it will also include events in locations such as Cork, Galway, Kildare, and two stops in Dublin. This comprehensive effort underscores Ford’s commitment to community engagement and support for vital services.
Tim O’Mahony, the chief executive of the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We’re delighted to partner with Ford on this initiative, which directly supports our mission to help people who are vision impaired and families of children with autism. Community support is what makes our work possible, and this campaign will help us continue providing life-changing services free of charge. Thanks to Ford, even more people will experience the independence, safety, and companionship our dogs bring every day.”
The initiative is designed to not only raise funds but also to raise awareness about the important work carried out by the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind. John Manning, market lead at Ford Ireland, emphasized the significance of participation, noting, “Ford is proud to stand alongside Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind with our ‘Drive 4 Ur Community’ events. Every test drive taken means vital funds raised, so our customers can play an active part in supporting this incredible charity.”
In a bid to further promote the campaign, Irish model Rozanna Purcell has joined as a brand ambassador. She remarked, “I’ve always admired the incredible work Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind do to help people gain more independence and confidence in their daily lives. As an animal lover, it’s amazing to help shine a light on these incredible dogs and the committed volunteers who make such a difference to people all around the country.”
Customers interested in supporting the cause are encouraged to book their test drives early. More information on the campaign can be found at www.ford.ie, while donations to the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind can be made at www.guidedogs.ie.
This partnership highlights the potential of corporate-community collaboration to effect positive change, providing essential support to those in need while engaging the public in meaningful ways.
