Urgent Search for Missing Brit, 76, Last Seen in Costa del Sol

UPDATE: A frantic search is underway for missing British pensioner Clifford Wildgoose, aged 76, who vanished from a bar in Puerto Banus, Marbella, just hours before he was due to fly back to Manchester. His last known sighting was early Saturday, July 15, at around 2:00 AM at Patrick’s 19th Hole Bar.
His daughter, Melanie Hall, is “beside herself with worry” as authorities report no sign of him at Malaga Airport. “The gate has just closed for the flight he was due to board, and his friends are at the airport with no sign of him,” she stated. As concerns mount, family members are desperate for information regarding his whereabouts.
Melanie revealed that a transaction of £7 was recorded at a supermarket approximately five minutes from where he was last seen. “We don’t know if it’s my dad making those purchases or someone who’s got hold of his wallet,” she expressed, heightening the urgency surrounding his disappearance.
According to reports, Clifford, who has had health issues including a knee replacement, was last seen standing at the bar, but vanished without a trace moments later. “He’s not that steady on his feet,” Melanie added, emphasizing the potential risks he may face alone.
Originally from Ashton-under-Lyne in Greater Manchester, Clifford was in Spain for a short weekend getaway with a friend. His family is now increasingly anxious, as he left his phone and passport at the friend’s apartment in La Cala de Mijas. “He wouldn’t know the flat’s address as he’d never been before,” Melanie explained.
Local authorities, including Yorkshire Police and Spanish Police, are actively investigating. Melanie mentioned that her father’s friend has communicated with the Spanish police regarding the transaction on Clifford’s card, and they are currently looking into it. “I’ve tried ringing the hospitals,” she said, reflecting the family’s desperate attempts to locate him.
Clifford’s disappearance was first reported on social media by Melanie, who posted, “Missing person last seen at Patrick’s 19th Hole Bar in Puerto Banus. He’s 76 from the UK and called Clifford Wildgoose. Family are extremely worried, and police have been informed.”
In her appeal for help, she added, “He has no phone, and no one has seen or heard from him. Family are worried sick. Please contact if any info.” The emotional toll of the situation has resonated with many, as supporters reach out with messages of hope. One well-wisher commented, “Melanie, my thoughts are with you. Shared. Praying he turns up.”
As the search continues into the night, authorities urge anyone with information to come forward. The community and family are uniting in their hope for Clifford’s safe return. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
