Wicklow Players Celebrate €7.2 Million EuroDreams Windfall

Two lucky players from Wicklow are celebrating significant wins after claiming substantial EuroDreams prizes at the National Lottery headquarters. On September 8, 2023, one of the winners became the first EuroDreams player in Ireland to secure the Tier 1 prize, amounting to an impressive €20,000 a month for the next 30 years.
The top prize winner, who purchased her ticket online, visited the winners’ room to claim her life-changing annuity after successfully matching six numbers along with the Dream number in the draw. Reflecting on her unexpected fortune, she shared, “To be honest, I only play National Lottery games now and again. The day that I bought this ticket, I was out walking in the rain, and was dreaming of how a big win would certainly brighten up my day, so I got the phone out and bought a ticket.”
The following day, she checked her ticket after her husband texted her about the winning announcement. “I am used to seeing €5 or €10 amounts on my tickets but there it was in the little green box above my ticket on the screen – it said quite simply €20,000 a month for 30 years,” she recounted. Amazed, she initially thought there had been a mistake. “I had to keep my cool for the rest of the meeting so it really could not have ended quick enough. I raced home so that I could show my husband the ticket and get him to double check it. We were both just staring at the screen and then went into celebration mode.”
Another Wicklow winner also experienced joy on the same night, having purchased her EuroDreams ticket at a SuperValu store in Bray. She won the Tier 2 prize, which is worth €2,000 a month for 5 years. Overcome with emotion, she stated, “I cried over and over again when I realised I had won! This win is an amazing amount to have every single month for the next 5 years! I’m looking forward to booking last-minute trips now.”
To celebrate these remarkable wins, the National Lottery has planned a special event in Bray. A coffee truck will appear tomorrow morning, offering free coffee, cupcakes, and spot prizes to commuters. This initiative aims to brighten the morning for those passing by the car park near the corner of Strand Road and Quinsborough Road, alongside a special guest, James Patrice.
The EuroDreams game, which has recently gained popularity, offers players a chance to win life-changing sums through monthly draws. Both winners from Wicklow have added to the growing list of players who have experienced significant wins in Ireland, showcasing the excitement and potential of the National Lottery.
As these winners embrace their newfound fortunes, the National Lottery continues to encourage responsible play while providing thrilling opportunities for participants across the country.
