Urgent: Tributes Flow for ‘Exceptional’ Irish Firefighter David Stafford

UPDATE: A wave of heartbreak sweeps through Dublin as tributes pour in for David Stafford, a young firefighter and father-of-two, who tragically passed away on September 25. The 33-year-old, known for his dedication and spirit, died unexpectedly at home, leaving behind his partner Steph and children Blake and Quinn.
The Dublin Fire Brigade announced the devastating news, describing Stafford as “an exceptionally well-liked and well thought of young man and Firefighter/Paramedic.” His colleagues expressed profound sorrow, emphasizing his exemplary record and the impact he had on the community. “All at Dublin Fire Brigade are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague and friend David Stafford, Badge 750,” they stated.
Friends and family have taken to social media to share their condolences. One mourner wrote, “Steph, I can’t even begin to imagine what you and both families are going through right now. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss; David was an absolute gent!” Another colleague shared, “We will miss you so much on the watch, dear friend. You will be with us on every turn out. Rest in peace, Davey.”
Local councillor Malachy Steenson remarked, “David was a lovely young man, a father of two, a partner, son, and firefighter. He will be deeply missed within the community.” The outpouring of love and remembrance reflects the significant impact Stafford had on those around him.
David’s funeral is set for Tuesday morning at 11 AM at St Joseph’s Church in East Wall, followed by burial at New Balgriffin Cemetery. His family will receive visitors at their home on Monday evening, allowing the community to come together in remembrance.
As tributes continue to flood in, the community mourns the loss of a dedicated public servant and cherished family man. David Stafford’s legacy will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
