Father and Daughter Found Dead in Dublin Home in Tragic Incident

A tragic incident unfolded in a Dublin neighborhood on September 27, 2025, when a father and his six-year-old daughter were discovered dead in their home. Gardaí are investigating the case as a potential murder-suicide, with initial reports suggesting that Krzysztof Daczkowski, in his 30s, may have strangled his daughter, Julia Daczkowska, before taking his own life.
The grim discovery was made by the child’s mother, Aga Daczkowska, who returned to their residence at Heathfield Terrace in Cappagh, near Finglas, shortly before 20:00. Upon entering the home, she reportedly let out a horrifying scream that alerted neighbors, prompting emergency services to rush to the scene.
Locals described the sound as a chilling indication that something was gravely wrong. One resident recounted seeing the emergency response team arrive, stating, “I knew by the way they ran out that it was something serious.” The presence of multiple ambulances and fire brigade vehicles heightened the sense of urgency surrounding the situation.
According to Gardaí, there was no evidence of a break-in or any third-party involvement, leading investigators to focus solely on the family dynamics. It is feared that both Krzysztof and Julia may have been deceased for several hours before Aga returned home.
The bodies were removed from the residence around midday on September 28, with postmortem examinations scheduled to provide clarity on the circumstances leading to their deaths. Gardaí have established an incident room and are preparing for a murder investigation as they await the results of the autopsy.
The incident has left the close-knit community in shock. Many residents expressed their disbelief, recounting how they frequently saw Krzysztof and Julia enjoying time together, especially at a nearby playground. One local shared, “It’s very hard. Like we don’t know what to be telling our children. It’s just horrific.”
Another neighbor noted that the family had maintained a low profile, emphasizing the tragedy of the situation. “They’re a lovely very quiet family and kept to themselves,” they remarked. The community is now grappling with the emotional burden of explaining this tragedy to their children, many of whom played with Julia.
In an official statement, a Garda spokesperson confirmed that all circumstances surrounding the discovery of the bodies are under investigation. They stated, “Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of two bodies at a domestic residence in Finglas, Dublin, on Saturday, 27 September 2025.”
The local Garda Technical Bureau has preserved the location for forensic examination, and the Coroner’s Office has been notified. The investigation continues as the community mourns the loss of two of its members in such a devastating manner.
