Limerick Footballers Shine as Tailteann Cup Team of the Year Announced

Four players from Limerick’s senior football team have been recognized for their outstanding performances in the Tailteann Cup by being named to the prestigious Tailteann Cup Team of the Year. The selected players—Josh Ryan, Iain Corbett, Danny Neville, and James Naughton—have made significant contributions throughout the tournament, culminating in Limerick’s impressive run to the final.
Goalkeeper Josh Ryan played a pivotal role in Limerick’s success, particularly highlighted in the semi-final match against Wicklow, where he was awarded man of the match after saving a crucial penalty. His performances have been instrumental in establishing Limerick as a formidable contender in this year’s competition.
Defender Iain Corbett, who recently announced his inter-county retirement, has been named at number six in recognition of his solid defensive skills. Corbett’s leadership and experience have greatly benefited the team throughout the tournament.
In attack, Danny Neville and James Naughton showcased their scoring prowess, combining for an impressive total of 3-43 during the Tailteann Cup. Their offensive contributions have been vital in pushing Limerick forward in challenging matches.
