UPDATE: Nearly 250,000 people are set to cast their votes in tomorrow’s highly anticipated Presidential Election across Galway. With polls opening at 7 AM and closing at 10 PM, officials urge all voters to prepare and bring valid identification.

The electorate in Galway is divided into three key areas: 102,959 voters in Galway West, 86,497 in Galway East, and 60,278 in the Roscommon/Galway region. This significant participation reflects the community’s engagement and commitment to the electoral process.

Votes in Galway West will be counted at the Lawn Tennis Club in Salthill, while those in Galway East will be processed at Presentation College in Headford. For Roscommon/Galway, the counting will take place at the Hyde Centre.

Authorities remind voters to plan ahead and ensure they have their ID ready to avoid any last-minute issues.

“It’s crucial that everyone knows where to go and what to bring,”

stated Brian Dawson, Communications & Public Affairs Manager with An Coimisiún Toghcháin. “This election is vital for our democracy, and every vote counts.”

As citizens prepare to head to the polls, this election not only determines leadership but also reflects the collective voice of the people of Galway. The stakes are high, and the turnout could sway the results significantly.

Stay tuned for updates as the day progresses, and make sure to share your voting experience on social media. Your voice matters!
