Two Men Arrested for Arson in ‘Extremely Dangerous’ Drogheda Fire
BREAKING: Two men have been arrested in connection with a **dangerous arson** incident at an IPAS centre in **Drogheda**, **Ireland**, that occurred on **Halloween night, October 31, 2025**. The first suspect, a male in his **20s**, was taken into custody on **Wednesday night, November 5**, and is currently detained under **Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984**.
Just hours later, on the morning of **Thursday, November 6**, a second male, also in his **20s**, was arrested for similar alleged offences under the **Criminal Damage Act 1991**. Both suspects remain in custody at a Garda Station in **Co. Louth**.
Authorities were alerted to the fire on **Georges Street** at around **8:15 PM** on Halloween. Initial reports indicated that the fire was sparked by the discharge of fireworks. However, Garda investigations revealed that the blaze was deliberately set, posing a grave threat to the lives of residents, including children, who were present at the time.
The **Gardaí** reported that the fire was an **extremely dangerous act**, endangering lives and causing significant chaos within the community. Fortunately, all occupants of the affected property were safely evacuated. Several individuals were transported to **Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital** for medical assessment due to smoke inhalation and shock.
