UPDATE: A significant change is set to impact motorists in County Kilkenny as a new speed limit will take effect on the N25 starting Monday, November 10. The Kilkenny County Council has confirmed that the speed limit in a key section of the N25 will be reduced from 100 km/h to 80 km/h.

The new limit applies to a stretch of the N25, specifically from 40 meters north of Luffany Roundabout to 553 meters north of the junction with the L7522. This decision follows the adoption of the Special Speed Limit (Amendment) Bye-Laws, which were approved after a public consultation process earlier this year.

Authorities urge all drivers using this route to be aware of the speed limit change and to adhere to the newly erected signage. “We request that motorists take note of these adjustments for their safety and the safety of others,” a spokesperson for Kilkenny County Council stated.

This reduction is part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety in the area, addressing community concerns and improving conditions for all road users. As more drivers take to the roads, compliance with the new speed limit will be crucial in preventing accidents and ensuring public safety.

Motorists are encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly as this change approaches. Expect increased monitoring in the area to ensure adherence to the new speed regulations.
