Young Man, 20, Killed in Tragic Early-Morning Collision in Derry

UPDATE: A young man in his 20s has tragically died after being struck by a car in Coleraine, Co Derry early this morning. The fatal collision occurred shortly after 1:20 AM in the Dunhill Road area, sending shockwaves through the community.

Emergency services and the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) rushed to the scene but unfortunately, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the site of the accident. The road was closed for several hours as investigators conducted a thorough examination, but it has since reopened to traffic.

Authorities are now launching an urgent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision. Chief Inspector Celeste Simpson from the Collision Investigation Unit stated,

“Collision Investigation Unit detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or to anyone who may have CCTV, dash-cam or any other footage that could assist with enquiries.”
