Family Remembers Beloved Cork Mum Ahead of Funeral Service
The family of Alma Karanauskienė, a mother of three from Co Cork, is mourning her passing ahead of her funeral service. Alma passed away peacefully on November 12, 2023, at the age of 35, leaving her loved ones in deep sorrow. Originally from Lithuania, she had been a cherished member of the Skibbereen community for several years.
In a heartfelt statement, her family expressed their profound grief, saying, “We feel as if we have lost a part of ourselves.” They described Alma as a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, relative, and friend. The family further shared how her vibrant spirit brought light into the lives of those around her, stating, “Her light was special. She knew how to brighten even the darkest day.”
Alma’s family conveyed their pain, saying, “With immeasurable pain and endless sorrow, we announce sadly that Alma left us.” They reflected on the deep impact she had on their lives, stating, “She was a person who shared her love quietly but strongly.” They believe her spirit will continue to shine brightly, comparing her presence to a star that watches over them.
A Lasting Legacy at Drinagh Pharmacy
Alma worked at Drinagh Pharmacy in Skibbereen, where she was remembered fondly by both colleagues and customers. The pharmacy paid tribute to her in a social media post, stating, “Alma was a warm, caring, and sincere person always kind and helpful to both customers and colleagues.” They expressed their heartbreak over her loss and emphasized that her memory would be forever cherished.
Customers also took to social media to share their condolences and memories. One individual remarked, “Alma was such a lovely kind soul who touched the lives of everyone she met.” Another added, “Always such a lovely lady to help with anything you needed. It’s very sad; our thoughts and prayers are with her family.”
Alma’s funeral mass is scheduled for 12:00 noon on Saturday at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Skibbereen. As her family prepares to say their final goodbyes, they hope the day will be filled with gratitude for her life. “May this day be not only one of sadness, but also of gratitude for her light, for her gentleness, for her love, which will never fade,” they stated.
In this time of mourning, the community of Skibbereen stands united in remembering Alma Karanauskienė—a woman whose kindness and spirit touched so many lives.
