New Dance Spectacle “Emerald Storm” Opens in West End Today!
UPDATE: The highly anticipated dance show, Emerald Storm, officially premieres today at the Emerald Theatre in London, combining the vibrant worlds of Irish dance and modern tap. This electrifying performance, which runs until December 14, 2025, promises to redefine the landscape of dance in the West End.
The show features a star-studded cast, including Olivia Graydon, a former star of Lord of the Dance, who leads the Irish dancing component. Co-written and co-choreographed by acclaimed tap dancer Adam Garcia, Emerald Storm showcases an exhilarating soundtrack filled with music from iconic Irish bands, creating a unique fusion of traditional and contemporary styles.
Emerald Storm is not just another dance show; it represents a bold and innovative approach to Irish dance, with creator Duncan Heather emphasizing that audiences should not expect a typical Irish dance performance. “If they’re coming to see something like Lord of the Dance or Riverdance, then that’s not what Emerald Storm is,” he stated.
The show has evolved since its initial run in September 2023, now presenting a fresh perspective on Irish culture and dance. Graydon expressed her excitement, saying, “I really do love it. I think it’s just such a different take on Irish dancing.”
The atmosphere promises to be electric, with the performers encouraging audience participation. Graydon mentioned, “We’re gonna really try and bring that out into the audience,” inviting theatre-goers to join in for a post-show jam session. “Bring your Irish dancing shoes and we’ll have to battle it out with the tappers.”
The energy surrounding Emerald Storm is palpable, with cast members buzzing about the potential for the show to become a long-standing feature on the theatre scene. “I feel like all of the stars are aligned for this show,” Graydon said, highlighting the immersive experience that awaits audiences.
This innovative dance performance is set to tour the UK next year, bringing the excitement of Irish culture and dance to a wider audience. The show’s blend of humor, skill, and heart aims to create an unforgettable experience, with Graydon predicting that “if they’re getting half the energy that we’re doing in the rehearsal room, then it’s going to be a great show.”
For those eager to witness this groundbreaking production, tickets are available now. Don’t miss your chance to be part of the excitement as Emerald Storm lights up the West End stage!
